Numurkah Pioneers Memorial Lodge
The Lodge has 34 permanent residents, 2 respite beds and 2 transitional care beds for people who need support before going home after being in hospital. As part of our fully integrated health service, the Lodge has a range of highly qualified staff that work together to provide the best possible care for you. We have a qualified nurse in the facility 24 hours a day and plenty of personal care staff to work with you to achieve your goals.
Australian Aged Care Quality Agency, the national peak body for aged care, has given a resounding endorsement of the Lodge, attaining a perfect score of compliance by meeting every outcome in the four standards, including health and personal care, lifestyle and the physical environment. Following the independent audits, three-year accreditation has been awarded to both Numurkah Pioneers Memorial Lodge and Karinya. The three-year accreditation is an outstanding reflection of the quality of care provided to residents and assures that older people in the Numurkah community receive a high standard of care that meets their individual needs.
The Lodge offers spacious rooms with big windows and a sliding door that leads you to your personal patio and a centralised courtyard with gardens.
Rooms have an ensuite and furniture but we also encourage you to bring your personal items and special mementos to make yourself at home.
Building a better future
A community information and consultation session was held on Friday 26 July 2019 in relation to the redevelopment of Numurkah Pioneers Memorial Lodge, with over 50 people attending. This provided an opportunity for residents, families, community members and staff to ask questions, and provide input into potential options and site considerations.
The master plan and feasibility study is being undertaken by Bamford Architects and a User Group has been established, including community members and staff.
The entire project including master planning, feasibility study and redevelopment stages will include extensive consultation over the coming months with residents, families, staff, volunteers and
the involvement of the broader community. The master plan and feasibility study process is expected to take six months and will focus on the needs and preferences of consumers now and in
the future, the site options and opportunities, latest design, structure, development guidelines, the character of the local area and other considerations. The master plan and feasibility study will provide the necessary information to proceed to architectural
design and construction.
This project is self-funded. Numurkah District Health Service will use reserves to fund the capital project.
The opportunities for creating the lifestyle you want are plentiful at the Lodge. You’ll be spoilt for choice with a full activity program run by the diversional therapist, that includes cultural days, bus outings, music therapy and gardening programs. There is a hair dresser on site, a private physiotherapy and pain management programs and many volunteers that come to catch up with residents over a coffee or help out at meal times.
The Lodge Auxiliary, a group of local volunteers meet regularly and work together to fund raise for the resident programs.
Lifestyle at the Lodge is all about you. We work with you and your family to create a program that suits you.
