EFT/Shifts: 0.3 EFT Status: Part Time Location: Negotiable
NDHS has a position available starting March/April 2018 as a Mental Health Nurse. As part of a new ‘Stepped Care Model’ of mental health care funded by Murray PHN, the Mental Health Nurse will provide coordination, support and monitoring of the program across the Moira Shire, working to ensure that all activities, goals and outcome indicators of the program are met as per funding requirements.
The Mental Health Nurse will also work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team applying clinical knowledge and expertise to support the triage, assessment, delivery of treatment and provision of targeted interventions and support to consumers with mild to moderate mental health needs.
Consultations will take place in Cobram, Nathalia, Numurkah and Yarrawonga and by video link.
Location is negotiable and can be based at Cobram, Nathalia, Numurkah or Yarrawonga.
To be eligible
Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA and credentialed with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses
Demonstrated experience in the triage, assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range mental health illness and psychiatric disorders.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with consumers, families/carers, colleagues and other service providers.
Ability to work independently without supervision, as well as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team and be able to demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm and flexibility.
An understanding of the policies and procedures associated with the Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation.
Strong computer literacy and competence using a range of information technology applications and computer software packages.
Current drivers licence
Current satisfactory police check (dated within last 6 months of commencement) and every three years after commencement as per NDHS Guideline – Police Checks.
